Today is Day 2 of our Raw Food Cleanse.
Yesterday I had a breakfast smoothie, a fruit salad for lunch and a tomato and avocado salad for dinner.
Today we are starting our three days of all juicing. We are not following a specific diet or plan, and we did not get a chance to put any recipes together – at least not yet. I have been just grabbing stuff that looks like it would taste good together from the fridge and putting then into the blender. This morning we had spinach, frozen strawberries, almonds. cranberry juice and protein powder. For lunch I made us a banana and raspberry smoothie. Dinner will be a veggie shake.
It occurred to me that I should have weighed myself before I started this cleanse. Even though we are doing this to detox our bodies and clean our organs, weight loss is typically a welcome side effect of a cleanse. And I imaging three days of a liquid diet will help shed some unwelcome pounds. People who do our normal detox typically lose about 1/2 pound per day, so I am expecting to lose between 2 – 3 pounds this week. I weighed myself when I got to the office this morning and I weigh 197. I will weigh myself again on Friday.
I have felt good all day. I am not hungry and I have normal energy, and those are the two things I was most concerned about coming into this cleanse. I had a big cup of coffee this morning with coconut mile instead of cream, and a cup of green tea around noon.
